On Thursday April 5th, grade 8 youth faith ambassador students at St. Patrick School preformed a play showing kids what Jesus did for us. Grade 6 teacher Ms. Altobelli created and rehearsed the play to its full potential.
Students from grades 1-6 at St. Patrick Catholic School had the opportunity to watch this amazing play that the grade eights preformed. To start off the play narrators Tristina S., Vanessa G., and Stella S. read about the first station of the cross, then they would take Jesus' situation and compare it to our everyday lives for example when they read the station when Jesus is stripped the students acted to make fun of a child that didn't have the right clothes and didn't fit in. "I thought that was an excellent idea to compare what Jesus had to go through with what happens in our everyday lives. It made us feel as if we were in Jesus' shoes" says grade 7 viewer of the play Maria R. After each station of the cross was explained there was a short film that showed pictures of the Stations of the Cross as well as a picture reflecting our world today. Then after that Jeremy D. played the role of Jesus walking with his cross around the gym falling and having people come up to help him. Laura A. says "I thought that the play was amazing. I'm sure that each person in that gym had made fun of someone because they were different. When you think of it, Jesus had to go through the same thing you feel like such a bad person bullying someone. And you say to yourself did I really say that? Why did I do it when it was the wrong thing? I loved this play because it made you think about how you live your life". This play showed everyone the sacrifices that Jesus made for not just me and you but for everybody. Teachers, students and parents attended this play and by the time it was finished you could tell that everyone was touched once the understood how much they were loved.
