Grey covered the sky
As tears rolled down my eye
For my thoughts were pre-occupied
With the boy who had just died.
I looked at him, as he looked at me
How could this boy be my enemy?
He looked about eighteen years old
And in his hand a gun he did hold
But I could not shoot, I would not shoot; he looked just like my brother!
I tried to find a way out, but surely there was no other
It was his life or mine
And I was running out of time
With a pounding heart, I closed my eyes and quickly pulled the trigger
It's hard to forget
This nightmare I see of a boy, my brother, my enemy.
