Brampton Minor Basketball Association
Since 1979, The Brampton Minor Basketball Association (BMBA) has been dedicated to teaching youths ages 7-18 to play and enjoy the game of basketball. From grass-roots development to our elite development representative teams, our goal is to continually establish a program that will provide an atmosphere to challenge all participants, allowing them to develop at their own pace.  Each year we place close to 1,300 participants in our winter/summer house and rep team leagues. BMBA emphasizes fair play, respect and community service. Over the years we have seen the growth and enjoyment of this wonderful sport soar in our community.

Brampton - The Brampton Blue Devils novice boy's basketball team capped off a successful season at the Ontario Basketball Championship on April 2, 2007 when they took home the silver medal in the Under 10, Division 1. The Novice Age group had 40 teams competing throughout Ontario.Division 1 was an assembly of 8-team of the best talent that the province had to offer.

The boys ended their season with a 30 and 9 record, which included an exciting double overtime victory in the quarterfinals over the Scarborough Blues A team and an intense 19-17 victory in the semi-finals over the Scarborough B team to reach the provincial finals against Hamilton's Blessed Sacrament.

The Boys fought back from a (11) point deficit at the beginning of the last quarter to come within 3 points of Hamilton in the final seconds of the game. Clutch free throw shooting by Hamilton sealed the game, but the Blue Devils had nothing to hang their heads about. They all played with the hearts of champions until the final buzzer and displayed true sportsmanship and respect for their opponents throughout the tournament.

At the core of the teams success was a tough-minded individual and team defensive approach that earned the team 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal in 4 of the 6 tournaments that they participated in this year. With our boys playing at such a high level so early, the future of the Brampton basketball certainly looks promising in the years ahead.

Team members are:  Players: Devonte Case, Darnel Rhooms, Marcus McIntosh, Dante Myrie, Marcus Anderson, Harvir Virdi, Adam Boafo, Olajuwon Oyegoke, Nassier Wharton, Marc-Robert Graham, Keshon Montague and Payton Brown.  Coaches: Mark Wharton, Lloyd Montague, John Taylor and Kevin Fotune.  Manager: Symone Rhooms
