Argos Ink Two Canadian Linemen
January 3, 2007 - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that OL Michael Bailey and OL Scott Evans have agreed to terms with the club.
Bailey originally joined the Argonauts in 2006 during camp and remained on the club's developmental roster before returning to Mount Allison University to finish school. The versatile lineman came to the Boatmen as a defensive lineman and was converted to the offensive line during training camp.
Evans played four seasons at Wilfrid Laurier, primarily as an offensive lineman. The Cambridge, Ontario native was most successful in 2006 when he was named a First Team OUA All-Star in addition to being named Second Team All-Canadian.

2006: Signed with Toronto as a free agent on May 12, 2006…Attended training camp with the Argonauts…Dressed in both pre-season games versus Hamilton as a backup OL, backup DT and played ST…Assigned to the Argonauts developmental roster at the beginning of the season… Remained on the DR for the first five weeks of the season before returning to Mount Alison University on July 29.
College: 2005 Completed fourth season with Mount Allison University Mounties averaging 3.1 tackles a game...Led the team with two recovered fumbles…Competed in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport East West Bowl held at Wilfrid Laurier University… 2004 Recorded 24 tackles in 8 games… 2003 Named an Atlantic University Sport all-star…Won the award for most improved player for the Mounties…Recorded 36 tackles in 8 games… 2002 Recorded 9 total tackles in 8 games.
Personal: Attended Heart Lake Secondary School in Brampton. In Grade 12, he was named athlete of the year as a member of the Brampton Bulldogs. In September 2002, he enrolled at Mount Allison taking English and pursuing a bachelor of arts. He also played for the Mounties basketball team during the football off-season.

Personal: Scott is the son of Tom & Marilyn and has two younger brothers named Mark and David. He played defensive end, linebacker and offensive tackle in high school and received the Silver Bonnett Award as the league's hardest hitter. He enrolled in honours computer science while at Wilfrid Laurier and coaches Cambridge Minor Football in the off-season. In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing and writing music on his guitar and enjoys all kinds music from heavy metal to classical.
