Laurie Hicks - resident of Brampton
I feel that Laurie Hicks is deserving of the "Community Star of the Week" honour because of her unparalleled support in the social service sector. Laurie works for Regeneration Outreach Community and is involved in feeding the homeless through Breakfast Programs. Laurie is very personable and treats all of her clients with the utmost respect. She is currently undergoing a project which is a group where the homeless can meet and chat about what issues they are facing. In the future Laurie hopes to open up a full-fledged Drop-In Centre for the homeless population of Brampton.
Note: Homeless refers to those without permanent address or nearly homeless/marginalized.
