ATV Thieves Nabbed In The Act

Melancthon Twp. - On Monday, October 30, 2006, shortly after 6:00 AM, Dufferin OPP received a complaint of an ATV theft in progress at a residence in Melancthon Twp.  Descriptions of the person and vehicle were provided to officers on patrol.  Within minutes, a Dufferin OPP officer located the vehicle, a white Ford rental van, and stopped it in the Town of Shelburne.

Daniel GRAVES, 34 years-of-age, from Mississauga and Christine CHOUINARD, 35 years-of-age, from Brampton, were both arrested without incident.

GRAVES is charged with Break, Enter and Theft Over $5,000, Possession of Break-In Instruments, and Personation With Intent.  GRAVES was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Orangeville.

CHOUINARD is charged with Theft Over $5,000 and is scheduled to attend Orangeville Criminal Court on November 28, 2006.

The 2005 Kymco Mongoose ATV was recovered at the scene.

    It’s not surprising she got caught. I didn't know it was so close to my house though. Good going Mom.
